Easybooster

Easybooster is marine phytoplankton, stabilized at the optimum moment of its development to guarantee all the nutritional and biological active properties of marine microalgae, which are the basis of the trophic chain.

Net content: 250 y 1500 ml.

Marine phytoplankton is considered a complete food because it contains vitamins, essential fatty acids (EPA, DHA, ARA), essential amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, minerals and bioactive ingredients involved in the metabolic pathways of living beings in general and marine organisms in particular.

A single species of microalgae does not always provide all the nutritional requirements, so it is sometimes necessary to supply various species to obtain a correct nutritional balance.

Easybooster is a blend of four different species of marine phytoplankton in liquid format, developed specifically for feeding microfauna, filter feeders and corals in the reef aquarium.

Easybooster can be administered regularly and precisely by using a dosing pump, this allows a real and essential breakthrough for the maintenance and development of the microscopic life of marine reef aquariums, filter feeders and corals.

Easybooster does not require refrigeration to preserve all its nutritional properties.

Once opened, the expiration date does not change. The reason for the expiration date not changing is because the bag compresses as the gel comes out. This prevents air from entering the interior of the bag and thus prevents the oxidation of the phytoplankton.

Preservation. Store Easybooster in a dark, dry and cool place. The storage temperature should not exceed 25°C. In summer, if temperatures are higher, it is recommended to store it in an air-conditioned room.

The dosage varies slightly depending on the load of organisms in the aquarium. Generally, this is set between 8 ml/ day (base or maintenance guideline) and 16 ml/ day (medium-high demand) for an aquarium with a gross volume of 1000 liters.

We recommend starting the use of Easybooster in increasing weekly dosages with the following protocol:

1st week; 2 ml / day

2nd week; 4 ml / day

3rd week; 6 ml / day

4th week; 8 ml / day (base or maintenance guideline).

From the 4th week onwards, we can increase the dosage in increasing doses of 2 ml per week until high levels of zooplankton production are reached, which will feed fish, invertebrates and corals.

Easybooster can be automatically dosed to the aquarium using a dosing pump. For a correct dispersion, it is necessary that Easybooster is dosed into the aquarium in the proximity of a pump that produces an intense water circulation.

In case of manual dosing of the product, pour the required dose in a glass, add aquarium water, shake to disperse the dose and pour the product in the proximity of a circulation pump for proper dispersion.

It is recommended to distribute the dosage of Easybooster throughout the day.

It is not necessary to turn off the skimmer.

Tetraselmis chuii:

  • For its high content of antioxidants Superoxide Dismutase, Catalase and Glutathione Peroxidase.
  • High digestibility for filter feeders and zooplankton.
  • It provides a high content of polysaccharides, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), pigments and other lipid compounds.

Phaeodactylum tricornutum:

  • Its high beta-glucan content improved the immune system of fish, making them more resistant to parasite and diseases.
  • Protein, carbohydrate, and lipid content, rich in antioxidants, carotenoids such as fucoxanthin which helps process fat and prevents its accumulation via tissue.
  • Increases fatty acid oxidation and decreases hepatic content (fatty livers) so frequent in fish.
  • High EPA and DHA content.

Nannochloropsis gaditana:

  • It provides a lipid profile very rich in EPA and ARA.
  • High content of high quality Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA).
  • Source of vitamins and natural antioxidants.

Isochrysis T Iso:

  • High content fats rich in essential polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3), mainly DHA.
  • High protein content.
  • Source of natural pigments such as lutein, zeaxanthin, astaxanthin, etc.
  • The nutritional balance of its microalgae mix. A single species of microalgae does not always provide the nutritional requirements of the marine aquarium inhabitants, so it is sometimes necessary to supply several species to obtain a correct balance.

It is the product in the market, in liquid form, with the highest concentration of cells, 5 x 109 cells/ml, and it does not require refrigeration during storage to maintain all its original nutritional properties intact.

Easybooster by Easy reefs is liquid phytoplankton and has the following characteristics:

    • Easybooster is a concentrated product containing a selected blend of high quality microalgae (phytoplankton) that provide a complete and balanced nutrition for various organisms.
    • Easybooster uses an innovative technology of culture in closed photobioreactors, which prevents environmental contamination, and we also analyze each batch by genetic analysis, guaranteeing maximum purity.
    • Easybooster is easy to use and can be added accurately and regularly, either manually or by dosing pump, allowing aquarists to provide the right amount of feed.

FAQs

Do corals feed on phytoplankton?

Science has been able to demonstrate that phytoplankton participate in the intracellular and extracellular feeding of corals.

How does Easybooster affect the aquarium?

The proliferation of microfauna and its subsequent reproduction produces an increase in the availability of zooplankton in the water column and rocks. This allows the indirect and direct feeding of corals, completing their nutritional requirements, and feed for fish that capture their prey between the rocks or in the sediment (Synchiropus, Valencianea, etc.).

How do I know if Easybooster is working correctly in my aquarium?

The first symptom that it’s working correctly is the intensification of the colour of SPS corals. Non-photosynthetic plant-eating corals swell and open their polyps to feed. Other filter feeders like Tridacnas, Seballestrae, etc. show increased growth and activity.
A short time after there is a significant increase in the microfauna present in the aquarium, and feather dusters and sponges will appear soon after.

Tridacnas. The autotrophy is the major source of carbon to this clam, potentially capable of satisfying all respiratory requirements of the host. However, the potential importance of heterotrophy to total energy needs of the host is also significant and changes with the size of clam.

The spectacular rates of growth in this clam are such that filter feeding is able to provide 65% of the total carbon needed both for respiration and growth in small clams.

Does Easybooster increase the amount of phosphate in the aquarium?

Phosphorus is an essential nutrient for life, the bioavailability of phosphorus associated with phytoplankton means that it is rapidly converted to biomass and does not diffuse into the water column as a residual nutrient.

Is it important to begin using Easybooster in increasing doses?

It is not only important; it is vital for the aquarium’s balance that you begin using it in a low dose and gradually increase it according to the instructions.
This is to ensure that the bacteria, filter feeders and microfauna present in the aquarium increase gradually so that most of the phytoplankton we provide is consumed.

At what moment in the photoperiod should I add Easybooster?

When dosing it manually, we recommend spacing out the doses, ideally two hours after the lights are turned on and one hour after the lights have been turned off.
If a dosing pump is used, it is best to program it to dose several times a day.

We recommend distributing the doses as much as possible during the day. This way we ensure a greater food availability for our corals and increase the level of usage of the food that we are implementing.

As it is an artificial ecosystem, we can establish the metabolic routes practically at will, but if we base ourselves on feeding models similar to that of reefs, we suggest that you feed as follows:

 Easybooster (Phytoplankton trophic chain).

-One hour after lights out start first dose and last dose one hour after lights out. At sunrise, phytoplankton production begins on the coral reefs and reaches its peak production at the end of the day.

Example: You add 3ml of Easybooster. Lights from 6am ON to 6pm OFF:

 1 Dose 7 am (1ml)

 2 Doses 13 am (1ml)

 3 Doses 7 pm (1ml)

 EasyspsEVO (Zooplankton food chain)

-First dose one hour before lights out and last dose one hour before lights out. Zooplankton production begins to increase at sunset, coinciding with the phytoplankton production peaks. If we observe the development of zooplankton in nature, we can observe that there is a presence of zooplankton during the day, but the presence in the natural environment is 4 times higher at night.

Example: You add 6 ml of EasyspsEVO. Lights 6am ON – 6pm OFF.

 1 Dose 1.5 ml, 5 pm

 2 Doses 1.5 ml, 9 pm

 3 Doses 1.5 ml, 1 am

 4 Doses 1.5 ml, 5 am

With this diet you can cover 100% of the metabolic needs of coral, extracellular digestion and intracellular digestion of corals and marine invertebrates.

Important: Please note the correct calibration of the dosing pump

Once opened, how long does Easybooster maintain its properties?

The product will not be altered if you are careful to maintain the bag well closed and sealed, extracting all the air that may have entered the bag.
If using Easybooster as shown in the image, it will be maintained intact during the same period indicated by the expiration date. This is because the suction from the dosing pump compresses the bag preventing any air from entering and thus preventing the oxidation of phytoplankton.

Do Easybooster and Easy reefs corals serve the same purpose?

Yes, both products have been developed for feeding the base of the aquarium food chain.

Is there any advantage to using Easybooster or Easy reef corals?

Yes, currently Easy reefs corals is composed of a mixture of 3 microalgae with a very suitable nutritional profile, however, Easybooster is a formulation composed of 4 microalgae which guarantees an optimal nutritional profile.

Easy reefs corals is only freeze-dried phytoplankton, Easybooster is phytoplankton suspended in a mineral solution that helps to restore some of the minerals that are necessary for the aquarium such as magnesium or potassium.

Easybooster can be added to the aquarium automatically by means of a dosing pump, which makes it much easier to use compared to the need to prepare the freeze-dried product.

Can I pour Easybooster directly onto a coral?

No. Easybooster is designed to be dispersed in the water and serve as an activator of the food chain, not to be fed directly to corals.
Dosing Easybooster directly onto the coral could damage the coral tissue.

How to increase the growth rate of your Tridacnas?

Autotrophy is the main carbon source of this mollusc, potentially able to satisfy all the respiratory needs of the host. However, the potential importance of heterotrophy for the host’s energy needs is also significant and changes with the size of this mollusc species.

The spectacular growth rates of this mollusc are such that filter feeding is able to provide 65 % of the total carbon needed for both respiration and growth of the small tridacnas.

Is it advisable to use Easybooster and Easysps EVO in my aquarium?

Easybooster is a phytoplankton mix, formulated with several species of microalgae to meet the needs of the aquarium’s microscopic life and phytophagous and filter-feeding corals. It is the basis for nutrition and maintenance.

Easysps EVO for SPS corals is a zooplankton-based formulation to which we add a small amount of microalgae to give it a plus in nutritional value, thanks to the bioactives provided by the microalgae we produced. Let’s not forget that corals capture zooplankton that incorporate undigested phytoplankton in their digestive systems.

Easysps EVO particles range from 0.2 microns the smallest, to 400 microns the largest. Between 2 and 200 microns, they make up approximately 60% of the product, thus ensuring catch possibilities.

Therefore, our recommendation is to use both products simultaneously, thus ensuring the nutritional balance of the aquarium.
