Easy reefs® Artemia
Easy Reefs ® Artemia has been developed for the culture of artemia and other crustaceans.
Net content: 15g.
Phytoplankton or marine microalgae are microscopic vegetal cells found in the sea. Marine phytoplankton is at the base of the food chain in aquatic ecosystems, as they serve as food for larger organisms such as zooplankton.
Marine phytoplankton is a very complete food since it contains vitamins, essential fatty acids, amino acids, carbohydrates and proteins necessary for the development of different aquarium organisms.
Easy reefs ® is 100 % freeze-dried marine phytoplankton, thus obtaining from this product all the advantages of microalgae in an easy way. With Easy reefs ® you can obtain excellent results in your marine aquarium.
Easy reefs ® freeze-dried microalgae maintain the same nutritional properties as microalgae found alive in the marine environment. The microalgae used are rich in fatty acids, aminoacids and vitamins.
Preservation. Store Easy reefs ® Artemia in a dark, dry and cool place. The storage temperature should not exceed 25°C. In summer, if temperatures are higher, it is recommended to store it in an air-conditioned room.
Once the container is opened, it is very important to keep the biomass dry and in darkness. Avoid storing in places with high humidity (condensation when opening the bottle causes the microalgae to absorb moisture and degrade). Keep the bottle closed. Once opened, consume preferably within 4 months.
One Easy reefs ® microalgae species (Tetraselmis 100 %) is used to ensure a correct nutritional balance.
The dosage depends on the density of artemia we feed. The consumption is 100 mg of Easy reefs ® Artemia per 10 litres of culture per day for the first 5 days (nauplii and metanauplii) and 200 mg of Easy reefs ® Artemia per 10 litres of culture per day from day 5 (juvenile and adult artemia). If it is observed that a few hours after adding Easy reefs ® Artemia, the water of the artemia culture becomes clear (the microalgae have been ingested) then it is necessary to add more Easy reefs ® Artemia.
Example for artemia culture in 10 litres (maintain gentle aeration):
- Hatch the artemia cysts according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Once they have hatched start feeding with Easy reefs ® Artemia.
- Put 0.5 litres in the blender jar.
- Add 100 mg of Easy reefs ® Artemia (one level spoonful) and follow the resuspension instructions.
- Remove 0.5 litres from the culture water to make space for the new algae preparation.
- Slowly add the algae preparation into the culture to avoid the suspension of the sediment.
Resuspension instructions
Easy reefs ® are freeze-dried microalgae so they must be hydrated before being used. For correct hydration follow the next steps:
- Put sea water as specified in the directions in the glass blender.
- Add the amount of Easy reefs ® as specified in the directions.
- Leave Easy reefs ® microalgae to hydrate for one minute, with no mixing.
- Run the blender on a gentle speed for one minute.
- Add to the aquarium as directed.
One level spoonful = 100 mg of Easy reefs ® microalgae
Only prepare what is to be used. It is not recommended to store what is left after resuspension. Even in the refrigerator nutritional properties are lost due to oxidation.
Tetraselmis chuii
- For its high antioxidant content Superoxide Dismutase, Catalase and Glutathione Peroxidase.
- Alta digestibilidad.
- Easy reefs ® Artemia (Tetraselmis 100 %) to ensure the digestibility and correct growth of artemia in all their growth phases.
